Up to 16 weeks of vacation per year
3 or 4 outings per year, depending on family status

Job-sharing possibilities (i.e. 2 months up North, 2 months down South)
Nurses may alternate work periods on 4-week/4-week basis in the villages or on a 6-week/6-week basis in Kuujjuak

Remote work allowance : between $10,627 and $22,000/year, depending on posting location and family status
High cost of living allowance : between $3,190 and $8,176/year, depending on posting location and family status
Temporary attraction/retention allowance for health professionals and technicians (other than nurses) : between $6,000 and $11,750/year, depending on posting location and years of service
Nurses retention allowance : between $14,000 and $17,000, depending on posting location
Who can claim a northern leave of absence?

In general, you are eligible for a northern leave of absence if you’re employed by the province’s health and social services network. Provided you are found eligible, contrary to an unpaid leave of absence, a northern leave of absence :
can be renewed for a period of up to 48 months
allows the accumulated seniority on northern leave to be acknowledged upon return to one’s original establishment
